Breast Augmentation and Lift

Patients who desire breast augmentation but are wary of implants can have breast augmentation using their own fat. Breast augmentation via fat injection gives the breasts a look and feel that is natural and the results are permanent. In the past, breast augmentation using fat injections was frowned upon by breast surgeons because the presence of fat necrosis would interfere with breast cancer detection. But new mammogram techniques have changed that. Mammograms can now differentiate between fat necrosis and what can actually be early cancer cells. Therefore we require all patients interested in breast augmentation via fat injection to undergo a mammogram.

What is Fat Transfer and how does it work?

Dr. Johnson harvests excess fat from areas such as the abdomen, flanks, hips or thighs and, after preparation, injects into areas of the body that need filling. Dr. Johnson specializes in the use of the microfat grafting technique. The patient is awake during the procedure due to the use of tumescent anesthesia. Much like SMARTLIPO MPX, Vibro Lipo, or VASER, the procedure is minimally invasive. Once the area is numbed, low-vacuum liposuction is used to harvest the living fat cells. The fat is then prepared and then injected into the tissue of the favored site. New techniques have shown up to a 70% fat cell survival rate.

What other areas can be treated with Fat Transfer?

Facial contouring FAMI - With aging, the fat in our face has a tendency to move downward over time, and as a result, the face appears too thin or saggy. Body Molding into the face adds fat to the area beneath the skin, adding fullness where needed. The fat creates a lasting youthful, fuller appearance. Treatable facial areas include: temples, cheeks, marionette lines, laugh lines, under eyes, jaw line, cheeks, and scars due to acne or surgery.

Chin Augmentation - Fat Transfer is used in this area to correct small or underdeveloped chins without the need to undergo synthetic chin implant surgery. This procedure will strengthen the facial profile and bring a better balance to the facial features.

Brazilian Lift - The Brazilian Lift is a treatment involving the injection of harvested fat into a patients buttocks. This procedure can add fullness to any part of, or the entire, buttocks to create the desired look. Recovery is mild and most clients return to work within a day. Dr. Johnson harvests fat from donor sites such as the inner thighs, lower abdomen, or lovehandles; and then prepares the fat before re-injection. The Brazilian Lift assures lasting results and gives a very natural shape and feel to the buttocks.
