Thermage Skin Treatments

Thermage is a non-invasive treatment that safely heats your skin’s dermis and the web of collagen in the subcutaneous layer. This causes an immediate tightening of your skin, followed by a long-term improvement as new collagen forms. Innovations MedSpa offers a full range of treatments utilizing Thermage — from cellulite reduction to deep countour body shaping, and advanced treatments for the face, body, and hands. Our Thermage technicians are among the most experienced in the country.

Thermage® has been used most extensively for non-invasive “face-lifts” – providing excellent benefits without the risks associated with an invasive procedure. Many people aren’t aware that this treatment can provide these benefits for many other areas of the body, including the hands, elbows, neck, and décolleté. Thermage® is completely non-invasive with no surgery or injections. Improvements are both immediately visible and continue up to six months. Results can last for years depending on your skin condition, sun exposure and aging process. The procedure is normally done as a single treatment that takes from 20-120 minutes depending on the treatment area. There is no downtime and you can usually immediately resume your normal routine.

Overview of skin composition

To better understand how Thermage® works, it is helpful to understand the structure of the skin. Skin is made up of three distinct layers:

  • A visible outer layer called the epidermis
  • A collagen-rich under layer called the dermis
  • An inner layer beneath the dermis called the subcutaneous layer, also known as the fat layer. A web of collagen fibers runs through the fat layer
The skin’s collagen layer before (left) and after (right) Thermage® treatment. Thermage tightens and renews collagen in all three layers of the skin.

When the collagen in these three layers breaks down due to sun exposure, family heredity, or the normal aging process, your skin begins to sag and wrinkle. Thermage® is the only non-invasive procedure available that tightens and renews your skin's collagen in all three layers.

Is it safe?

Thermage uses Monopolar Radiofrequency (CRF) technology to safely heat your skin's dermis and the web of collagen in the fat layer. Thermage® offers many of the same benefits of traditional surgical procedures, but Thermage is not surgery. No incisions are made, and there is no scarring or lasting damage to the skin.
